Preparation of Perineum Soak infusion:
Add 1/4 cup or desired amount of Perineum Soak Herbal Sitz Bath Salts mix or 1 bag of Perineum Soak into a bowl, jug or directly into sitz bath. Pour 500ml of boiling water over and allow herbs to infuse for 10-15 minutes. Stir and gently press/squeeze the Perineum Soak bag to strengthen the infusion.
Sitz Bath:
Prepare Perineum Soak infusion as described above. Add more water to sitz bath, enough to submerge perineum. Soak perineum for 20-30 minutes. Discard Perineum Soak bag after use. Sitz baths are recommended 2-3 times daily, and limited to 1 sitz bath daily for perineum stitches. Sitz baths are recommended for 1-2 weeks postpartum, or as advised by your health care provider.
Perineum rinse:
Prepare Perineum Soak infusion as described above. Add 1-2 litres water to prepared Perineum Soak infusion. Pour into a perineum rinse bottle or jug. This diluted Perineum Soak infusion can be poured over vaginal area while urinating to cleanse and reduce discomfort associated with urination after birth.
